Spicebomb Infrared

It was then necessary to wait until 2012 to see the appearance of its masculine equivalent: a bomb of spices named Spicebomb. Today, in March 2021, history repeats itself once again. This time, Viktor & Rolf decides to turn up the heat a notch and paints the portrait of an infinitely torrid and seductive man. Its new juice is called Spicebomb Infrared. As powerful as it is captivating, it cannot escape you!

Spicebomb Infrared, a fragrance inspired by infrared technology

The human eye is capable of perceiving all sorts of details. However, certain elements escape it. This is why infrared technology was designed. Not operating on the same spectrum as visible light, it gives a red color to any element giving off heat. More specifically, the hotter an element is, the more its red coloring intensifies. Here, the heat seems to have overtaken the Viktor & Rolf bottle. Spicebomb Infrared is a fragrance that accentuates the body heat of the man. It burns with an inner flame and creates upon him a crescendo of sensuality. Like an incandescent shiver, it sends us into a torrid and seductive world. Spicebomb Infrared is impossible to ignore. Persistent and captivating, it delivers the image of a particularly tempting man.

Spicebomb Infrared, a weapon of mass seduction

To protect this precious aphrodisiac potion, Viktor & Rolf once again chose to present it in a grenade-shaped bottle. This one is fitted with a very original opening. To become intoxicated with its scent, one simply needs to prime its pin, itself bearing the seal of Viktor & Rolf. Designed like a grenade, this fragrance bottle resembles a chic and sophisticated weapon. This time, however, Spicebomb Infrared offers an entirely new color code. It is worked in a gradient of red and black. A black band also protects the center of this bottle, present as if to contain all the power of this essence for men.

The peppery and fruity scent of Spicebomb Infrared by Viktor & Rolf

With this particularly original visual, one is already eager to discover what this virile glass case holds. To raise the temperature from the top notes to the base notes of Spicebomb Infrared, Viktor & Rolf relied on spices. Saffron gives it a very refined aspect. Indeed, it is the most expensive spice in the world. This one is at once leathery, spicy and honeyed. It combines with Habanero pepper, more chili-like and infinitely warm. Cinnamon, for its part, offers this fragrance a new, sweeter touch. Moreover, this also comes through in a blend of red fruits. Tangy and gourmand, they give Spicebomb Infrared an almost pastry-like aspect. Finally, it all ends with an ultimate smooth breath of tobacco and benzoin.

Olfastory’s review

Viktor & Rolf is first and foremost a fashion house, renowned for its modernity, its deceptively casual but always elegant style. Then, to complete its wardrobe and the look of its clients, Viktor & Rolf decided, starting in 2005, to venture into the world of perfumery. This is how Flowerbomb was created, a burst of flowers, followed in 2012 by a masculine counterpart named Spicebomb, much more spicy. Still working within a torrid and incandescent register, Viktor & Rolf delivers a new variation on this cult scent. Here is our review of Spicebomb Infrared, a fragrance for men from 2021.

2021 film under 18+ warning

2021 campaign with Caesar van den Idsert, images by Matthias Vriens-McGrath, film released under an 18+ warning.

The 2021 campaign brings together Dutch model Caesar van den Idsert in front of the lens of Matthias Vriens-McGrath. An editorial fashion credits sheet also attributes styling to Jos van Heel, casting direction to Andrey T, production to BlondVelvet and hair and makeup to David Koppelaar; Fragrantica, for its part, credits David Koppelaar as fashion editor and stylist, without the two attributions overlapping. The campaign is referenced under this same title in the professional database Models.com.

The film was released with a mature audience warning, and its online release sparked negative reactions in reader comments noted by Fragrantica.

In October 2021, an associated marketing initiative equips the fragrance with a sound signature, developed with IFF and IRCAM Amplify for e-commerce.
