Paris is the eau de toilette that Yves Saint Laurent launched in 1983, composed by Sophia Grojsman. It pairs a fruity, almost jammy rose with a creamy violet; the couturier is said to have chosen the fragrance’s name and its pink color before the formula even existed. Paris is now available as an eau de toilette and an eau de parfum.
Paris opens on geranium, hawthorn, bergamot and mimosa, and is built around two flowers: rose, Damask and May, and violet, which Sophia Grojsman wanted creamy and which she linked to Après l’Ondée.
Lily of the valley and iris soften this duo, over a base of sandalwood, amber and musk in which heliotrope adds a powdery touch.
