The Dolce Gabbana The One Men perfume. When The One For Men was created in 2008 by the house Dolce Gabbana, the message from its creators, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, could not have been clearer: We dedicate The One For Men to the Dolce Gabbana man: modern, sensual, cosmopolitan, who takes care of himself and his body.
The One for Men was born in 2008, following the success of The One for women. Sensual and modern, the Dolce & Gabbana man proves highly charismatic. The One for Men also reflects Dolce & Gabbana fashion, elegant and refined. The Dolce & Gabbana man stands out effortlessly, sporting a slender, sophisticated, Mediterranean and above all radiant silhouette. The One is here declined in its masculine form. Like its feminine counterpart, The One for Men is the very essence of masculine seduction.
Masculine sensuality according to Olivier Polge: The One Men
Olivier Polge is the son of the very famous Jacques Polge, retired perfumer of the house Chanel. Before turning to perfumery, Olivier Polge studied art history. His first bestseller, Dior Homme, released in 2005, propelled Olivier Polge into the spotlight. He then stated that suddenly, he had the impression that his fragrances smelled better in the eyes of others. Winner of the International Perfume Prize in 2009, Olivier Polge is now regarded as a genius. Bold, creative and very discreet, Olivier Polge is today the official perfumer of Chanel, thus succeeding his own father. Olivier Polge is behind such great and beautiful successes as Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf, Repetto, Eau de Parfum by Repetto, and, more recently, Gabrielle Chanel by Chanel.
The One for Men, elegant and timeless perfumed notes
Olivier Polge chose here to develop a classic and modern woody accord. The One for Men opens with lively and dynamic notes, combining grapefruit and basil, the whole enhanced by coriander. Originally from Asia, grapefruit appeared in Malaysia 4000 years ago, then was imported to the West Indies in the 16th century. The grapefruit tree is a highly resistant fruit tree. It nevertheless prefers warmth and is found mainly around the Mediterranean. Grapefruit essence is obtained by cold expression of the fruit peel. It releases tonalities that are both fruity, tangy, fresh and zesty. The heart of The One for Men aims to be radiant, not without a certain character. It is indeed laden with orange blossom, paired with ginger and cardamom. The origin of orange blossom is uncertain, since some claim it comes from China, while others say India. Orange blossom comes from the bitter orange tree. It was introduced to Europe by the Arabs in the 9th century. Orange blossom is the symbol of virginity and fertility. In the Middle Ages, all brides wore a crown of orange blossom. In perfumery, orange blossom releases floral tonalities, very radiant, jasmine-like and honeyed. Finally, the base of The One for Men is captivating and ultra sensual. It combines cedar, ambergris and tobacco notes. The bottle resembles that of its feminine counterpart. Very sober, it takes on a rectangular and architectural shape. This glass block with perfectly geometric lines gives the bottle an especially elegant virility.
