Ôff Now

Ôff Now: the do-not-disturb parenthesis signed Lancôme The zen chapter of Le Monde des Ô After the legendary launch of Ô de Lancôme in 1969, the house returns in 2025 with a sensory trilogy called Le Monde des Ô. Each opus targets a specific emotion: Ô Ver The Top for adrenaline, Ô Zenith for sun-kissed optimism and Ôff Now for absolute relaxation. Conceived as an olfactory pause button, this eau de toilette promises to disconnect mentally in one spritz.

Concept & storytelling

“Switch to Ôff mode”: a meditation fragrance

Lancôme describes Ôff Now as a sensory parenthesis that helps turn off internal notifications. The lemony freshness of the verbena slows the breath; the silky sandalwood lowers the heart rate. The result: an instant wave of calm, ideal for coffee-break moments, yoga practice or couch Sundays.

Sustainable sourcing and house supply chain

Verbena: grown biodynamically on Domaine de la Rose, low-pressure steam distilled.
Bergamot: up-cycled zest from a “zero food waste” Calabrian cooperative.
Sandalwood: ethical supply chain from Western Australia, blockchain traceability.
Alcohol: French beet from sugar refinery residues.

Express olfactory pyramid

Top: lemony verbena and frosted bergamot
Heart: sambac jasmine and milky fig leaf
Base: creamy sandalwood and crystalline musks

Bottle: night lavender

The emblematic pebble is dressed in a mauve-lavender gradient that darkens toward the base, evoking the dimness of a dimly lit bedroom. The matte white cap recalls a soft cushion, while a silver “Ô” ring serves as a tactile guide for spraying with eyes closed. Lightened glass (15% recycled), unscrewable pump and drop-in refill complete the collection’s CSR commitment.

Target audience & moments of use

Designed for 25-45 year olds who embrace slow-life, Ôff Now is sprayed:
• Before a yoga nidra session: the verbena clarifies the mind.
• After a hot shower: the sandalwood extends the cocoon effect.
• At the office, 5 PM: a reset spray to face the commute home without stress.

Olfastory’s review

Review: Ôff Now, the olfactory pause button that soothes head and heart Longevity: 6 hours of aromatic cocoon, 8 hours on fabric For an Eau de Toilette with a slow-life vocation, Ôff Now shows surprisingly solid performance: the verbena-bergamot combination pulses for nearly an hour before giving way to the fig leaf-jasmine accord, which sets a soft halo through the fifth hour. By the end of the day, a clean sandalwood-musk caress remains, imperceptible to bystanders but reassuring for oneself. On bed linen or a cotton sweatshirt, the milky base anchors until the next day: ideal for those who like falling asleep with a comfort scent without re-spraying.

The advertising

Advertising: “#SwitchToOff,” Lancôme’s zen parenthesis

To accompany the release of Ôff Now—the aromatic-woody water designed to “put the brain in airplane mode”—Lancôme deploys a multisensory campaign that pits digital frenzy against aromatherapeutic letting go. The 360° program combines a cinematic-poetic film, pastel print visuals, soothing AR filters and a “slow life” retail experience.

The manifesto film: “Press Pause” by Damien Chazelle

Contemplative cinema, a heart rate in decrescendo

Directed by Oscar winner Damien Chazelle, the one-minute spot opens on a city saturated with flickering screens (30 frames per second). Actress Emma Mackey crosses the flow, presses the “pause” icon on her smartphone: the soundtrack turns into a slowed heartbeat. The neon lights shift to mauve lavender; a purple pebble (the bottle) falls in slow motion, splashes onto the asphalt and releases a verbena-sandalwood mist that freezes the scene as if in a temporal bubble. The film closes on the claim “Switch to Ôff Now” as the BPM drops below 60 beats per minute—a nod to the soothing effect of the relaxing verbena.

Print visuals: the pastel eye of Julia Hetta

Mauve/white gradients, long exposure and kinetic blur

Photographer Julia Hetta shoots the bottle resting on a pearl-gray satin pillow; the long-exposure image creates a milky halo around the glass, a metaphor for the creamy sandalwood. The tagline “Press Pause” appears in Gotham Light, reversed in white to recall the blue light filtered by night mode. A diptych shows, on the left, a desk cluttered with notifications; on the right, the same desk cleared, bathed in a lilac gradient—message: “Before/After Ôff Now.”

Digital activation: AR filter & TikTok challenge

Instagram/Snapchat “ZenMode” filter

The filter covers the screen with a translucent mauve veil, reduces color saturation and displays a breathing gauge; a tap reveals the 3D bottle. Ten days after launch: 42 million impressions, average usage time 12 seconds.

The #SwitchToOff TikTok challenge

Creators post a short “before/after” video: a screen saturated with notifications, a “swipe down” gesture, slow-motion transition, mauve atmosphere and a perfume spray. The hashtag has accumulated 55 million views in three weeks, with 8% engagement.

Retail pop-up: the “Slow Bar” at Galeries Lafayette

Chromotherapy, a verbena infusion bar and micro-nap

Lancôme sets up a 120 sqm mauve space: an LED tunnel modulating light according to collective breathing; a verbena-bergamot herbal tea bar served in compostable cups; micro-nap booths scented with a micronized Ôff Now cloud. First weekend: average basket +26% compared to the Idôle 2025 benchmark.
