Galop

Nevertheless, it has never forgotten its first love. Thus, a good number of perfumes signed Hermès echo horseback riding, and such is notably the case with the very latest of them. This one is called Galop and is contained in a bottle shaped like a stirrup. Moreover, it was created by Christine Nagel, a perfumer who describes herself as being in love with freedom. It is therefore precisely this fervor that is found in this perfume.

The strength of the Hermès woman

With this perfume, Hermès seems to have envisioned its woman as a racehorse. She is perceived as a strong and fearless woman, distinctive and fiercely free. It is a little as if Hermès were urging her to live her life in an exciting and exhilarating way, at a gallop. Dancing barefoot on warm earth, drawing a perfect circle, aspiring to the ideal, getting carried away, rejoicing, boxing, without chaos or low blows, leaping higher, aiming, running… Such is Hermès's new aspiration. The woman appears bold and thoroughly contemporary. Full of strength, she inspires admiration and seems simply untamable. Galop is a perfume of movement with a fervor that is nonetheless controlled.

The woody and floral scent of Galop

But how can one evoke the world of horseback riding without calling on a strong dose of leather? Thus, Christine Nagel set her sights on Doblis calfskin, a supple and tender leather full of sensitivity that invites caressing. She chose to pair it with a luscious rose scent, synonymous with femininity and elegance. In this sense, the leather is perceived in its most sensual and dreamlike aspect. What is more, these are two emblematic materials of the house of Hermès, and it is therefore only logical that they are found together in this juice. They seem to be two opposites made to attract and dance together. If the leather intensifies the fervor of this juice, the rose is nonetheless not lacking in power. What is more, the whole is further enriched with spices, notably a true red gold called saffron. A touch of quince also softens the whole and gives it a hint of gourmand character. Galop ultimately proves to be perfectly harmonious, at once animalic, floral and feminine.

The bottle of Galop

Finally, a particularly original bottle was chosen for the perfume Galop. It takes the form of a stirrup and adopts a pure, airy look. In reality, this is a shape already familiar to the house of Hermès, since this stirrup had been a gift given to guests at the inauguration of the first Hermès store in New York, on August 1, 1930. It is therefore a nod to the history of Hermès, redesigned for the occasion with greater modernity. The whole is further adorned with a colored leather cord at its top, symbolizing at the same time women's attachment to this new perfume.
