Invictus, a legendary Paco Rabanne fragrance seems to possess a gift: that of turning everything it touches into gold! Thus, each of its fragrances is always highly anticipated, immediately propelling itself into the top sales charts across the globe.
Why is Invictus Legend a good fragrance? Invictus is a fragrance that is now world famous, having initially been created in 2013. A perfect embodiment of the unbeaten hero, it immediately became an ideal for men to reach and a fantasy for many women. Year after year, on the strength of its success, it has been reinterpreted several times, becoming in turn an Eau de Toilette, followed by Invictus Aqua in 2016 or Invictus Intense in 2017. In a hotel in the ninth arrondissement of Paris, at the end of February 2019, Paco Rabanne presented its new creation. This time, it is Invictus Legend, a juice that is both warm and more mineral than its predecessors. So, what about this new fragrance? Does it live up to all our expectations?
Olfastory’s review
Invictus Legend, the trophy of victory, without much surprise
As usual, Invictus Legend comes in a trophy-shaped bottle. Indeed, Paco Rabanne is well accustomed to trompe-l'oeil and enjoys repurposing objects we all know into perfume bottles. And what could be more evocative of victory than a cup to be proudly raised for all to see? Yet, this collector's item has not forgotten its practical side and has an ergonomic design that makes it easy to hold. Fitted with two handles, it also incorporates a spray nozzle. The whole rests on a solid base and reveals a particularly masculine style. A small novelty compared to its predecessors, Invictus Legend opts for a much darker blue color than before, which speaks volumes about its warmer character. Although very elegant, Invictus Legend therefore closely resembles its predecessors.
Domitille Bertier gives the scent of Invictus a mineral quality
Unlike its visual, the scent of Invictus Legend is a genuine surprise! This juice owes its existence to Domitille Bertier, a first in the history of the saga. The creator chose here to rework it in a more mineral spirit. Invictus Legend has a fresh, striking, almost metallic opening, relayed by a warmer, woody and arid accord. More than ever, Invictus Legend asserts its masculinity. Aromatic and spicy, it rests on a dry amber base. The result is a contrasted fragrance. Through her formula, Domitille Bertier wanted to create the sensation of a burning laurel. To evoke the Namibian desert, the filming location for the Paco Rabanne advertisement, she also relied on a honeyed, spicy accord, relayed by red amber, better known as labdanum cistus. The result is a highly contrasted fragrance that immediately sparks desire!
Nick Youngquest, face of the campaign for Invictus Legend, in a stunning advertisement
Finally, one last strong point of this new fragrance: its advertisement! On the occasion of the release of Invictus Legend, more than ever, Paco Rabanne pulled out all the stops! The house staged an advertisement worthy of a trailer for a blockbuster. Nick Youngquest is here accompanied by Luma Grothe, face of the campaign for Olympéa Legend. Both are pursued here by enemies each more frightening than the last. The latter are then swept aside with a simple wave of the hand by Invictus Legend. Once again, the Paco Rabanne couple embodies success. No one seems able to resist them! The whole scene plays out to Kanye West's Power, already associated with Invictus for several years. There is no doubt about it: the Invictus Legend advertisement is made to go down in legend!
