Where to buy

This was the very first juice created by the artistic director of Balenciaga himself. Its creator stated that it was a truly exciting project for him because it was the first time he had worked on a fragrance. It was important to capture the woman, the essence, the personality of B. Balenciaga.

The entire soul of the Balenciaga house in a fragrance

B. Balenciaga was born from the imagination of Alexander Wang. He was appointed artistic director of the house of Balenciaga in December 2012 and very quickly succeeded in establishing his style. Indeed, this highly creative figure always makes sure to get to the essential through noble materials. His garments display a simple yet highly effective charm, often harmonizing black and white tones with a few pastel shades. As such, Balenciaga's couture would almost resemble a kind of nude makeup, if it were makeup. This is precisely the style found in the fragrance B. Balenciaga. It can thus be characterized by three fundamental adjectives: sophistication, sensuality and femininity. B. Balenciaga paints the portrait of a woman who is simple yet elegant. She possesses a femininity full of contrasts and always strives to reveal her character while retaining a degree of mystery. This is undoubtedly where the power of her allure lies. The B. Balenciaga woman has a very assertive personality. Confident and in love with freedom, she lives her sensuality with emotion and refinement.

The contrasting flavor of B. Balenciaga

Reflecting the personality of the Balenciaga woman, the fragrance B. Balenciaga is made of multiple contrasts. It was perfumer Domitille Bertier who was given the challenge of creating this first fragrance. It opens on a green freshness built on an uncommon ingredient: edamame. These are small soybeans of Japanese origin. Here, they bring an unmatched crispness. They are then paired with the airy delicacy of lily of the valley. Then, the small white bells of this plant typical of the month of May give way to iris roots, one of the noblest ingredients in perfumery, releasing woody, floral and powdery accents here. Moreover, the tenacity of this ingredient is further heightened by the deeper vibrations of cedarwood. Cashmere wood, in turn, warms this ensemble, while pairing with ambrette seeds for a more musky and mineral rendering. The bottle of B. Balenciaga, for its part, remains true to the brand's aesthetic. It sits halfway between the classic and the modern. It comes in frosted glass with a cracked texture. Moreover, the idea here was to evoke the marble of the original Balenciaga salon located at 10, avenue George-V, in Paris.
