Idôle Now extends Lancôme’s Idôle line around a trio of materials the house calls augmented by science: a rose upcycled through its distillation water, a Malaysian orchid accord captured by headspace, and a Madagascan Bourbon vanilla infusion enriched with a biotech vanillin.
What the house declares
Lancôme builds Idôle Now on three materials. The Idôle rose is upcycled: its distillation water, usually discarded, is reinfused into the formula, and the union of essence and water gives a fresh, lively note.
The Malaysian orchid is captured by headspace, without picking the flower, and translated into a musky orchid accord. The infused Madagascan Bourbon vanilla is enriched with a natural vanillin obtained by biotechnology from repurposed ingredients, for a more powerful trail.
Three tiers
The house places three roses in the top, Isparta petal, centifolia and damascena absolute; the Malaysian orchid accord in the heart; Bourbon vanilla and natural vanillin in the base.
What the label declares
The ingredient list declares, after alcohol, fragrance and water, two UV filters, ethylhexyl salicylate and butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, ahead of linalool, benzyl salicylate, hydroxycitronellal, benzyl alcohol, citronellol and hexyl cinnamal.
It also shows limonene, geraniol, a stabilizer, tris(tetramethylhydroxypiperidinol) citrate, coumarin, methyl anthranilate, farnesol, citral, eugenol, methyl 2-octynoate and benzyl benzoate, along with three colorants, a red, a violet and a yellow.
