Hommage à L'Homme

Where to buy
This perfume with its assertive masculinity presents itself as a fragrance for the accomplished traveler, a confident and adventurous man. A fragranced adventure that pays tribute to man but also pays tribute to René Lalique...
A Hommage à l'Homme for a tribute to the artist of the Orient-Express
The history of Lalique perfumery began in 1992 in a carriage of the Orient-Express, in memory of the Art Deco work carried out by René Lalique on that same legendary train during the 1930s. In 1992, then, his granddaughter Marie-Claude launched the house's very first perfume there, Lalique, built around sculptures, vases and candlesticks carved directly into the glass by the master. The circle is complete after these twenty years of success in perfume with the presentation, on that same train in 2012, of the new men's fragrance Hommage à l'Homme.
Hommage à l'Homme is a perfume of travel, adventure and challenges, but also one of strong masculinity, of assertive and refined elegance.
Hommage à l'homme traces a theme inherent to man and his history: travel. In the luxury of the most refined tradition, the spirit of travel is woven with a timeless classicism aboard the Orient Express. Lalique on Hommage à l'Homme.
The bottle of the limited edition of Hommage à l'Homme, the star of the visual, is adorned with the famous sculpture of the Pipe Player created by René Lalique for a magnificent mahogany door of the Orient-Express. As for the Eau de Toilette bottle of Hommage à l'Homme, it too is designed with a very Art Deco look, in collaboration with the renowned designer Thierry de Baschmakoff. He drew inspiration in particular from the Duncan bathroom accessories collection, of course signed by Lalique.
Virile and spicy, Hommage à l'Homme takes us on a journey...
For once, it was a duo of sparkling perfumers who worked on this powerful Hommage à l'Homme. Christine Nagel and Mathilde Bijaoui were keen to compose together, for this Hommage à l'Homme, a perfume like an ode to masculinity and travel. The most powerful and spicy raw materials sit alongside citrus tonics and floral scents, which makes Hommage à l'Homme an elegant and original perfume, as sublime as it is difficult to classify.
Indeed, the sparkling opening of bergamot accompanied by saffron already prompts us to pack our bags for distant destinations, where violet leaf gladly joins in to bring flowers to our path. Then an intoxicating heart of spices carries us straight to the Orient thanks to notes of chili pepper and black pepper, this time enhanced by violet flower. Finally, we end our journey in comfortable leather armchairs, intoxicated by notes of cedar, cistus and leather, all while dreaming of the woody depths of vetiver and the majestic oud wood. The cottony white musks enrich this warm and enveloping sensation given by this journey from another time.
Hommage à l'Homme is an olfactory journey. A journey through time where men enjoy the exceptional setting of the Orient-Express and its legendary crossings through Eastern Europe. The armchairs are plush and comfortable, the sensations fragrant and sensual, and the landscapes woody.

Presentation aboard the Orient-Express
The perfume was presented to the press aboard the Orient-Express, twenty years after the launch of Lalique de Lalique in the same location.
The press discovered the perfume aboard the Orient-Express, for the perfume house's twentieth anniversary. The location echoes a previous event: Marie-Claude Lalique had launched the house's first women's fragrance there, Lalique de Lalique, in 1992.
