Indeed, with Oud Elixir Précieux and its three counterparts, François Demachy sought to explore the ancestral techniques of layering, which consist of superimposing one fragrance onto another to create, with each person’s skin, a unique olfactory blend. This technique, originating from the Middle East and 3000 years old, had to be explored by this perfumer, who draws great inspiration from old-fashioned perfuming methods.

Thus Oud Elixir Précieux, like a magic potion, should be applied to the neck or décolleté in order to later be paired with the fragrances most suited to its strength. François Demachy particularly recommends blending Oud Elixir Précieux with the chypre and fruity strength of Gris Montaigne from the Collection Privée Dior.
