Oud, released in 2013, adds new chapters to it… Oud or the fragrance of character built around a legendary essence, a myth in fragrance form, a treasure in a bottle!

Oud or the conquest of the treasure by Réminiscence...

Oud wood makes every perfumer dream, including of course the beautiful house of Réminiscence, focused since its first creations in 1970 on showcasing rare raw materials. Yet the famous oud is quite difficult to find, since its rarity makes it a luxury item traded like a gold nugget. But nothing is impossible for a determined heart, so the house of Réminiscence and its nose Fabrice Pellegrin awaited the opportunity to finally possess this precious oud in order to make it into a fragrance as multifaceted as it is strong in character.

Indeed, according to Fabrice Pellegrin, the creator, notably, of Oud: Today, young perfumers starting out only dream of making an oud, and that is quite understandable: it is rare for a raw material to offer so many facets — spicy, smoky, leathery, animalic, woody — and such complexity.

Spices, woods and leathers are the ingredients chosen by Réminiscence to showcase this beautiful treasure in a precious and mysterious Oud. A mystery that thickens even further at the sight of its visual in stores, since Oud reveals itself only through a thick brown smoke swirling around its bottle. Réminiscence will say nothing more about it—one will have to come and discover this treasure with one’s own nose!

A modern and unisex oriental signed by Réminiscence: Oud

The bottle of the beautiful Oud has lost its stars in favor of its box but continues to exude the refined elegance of the glassware created for the Les Classiques collection by Réminiscence. Understated but effective, the bottle of Oud remains slightly tilted at its base but has swapped the cylindrical cap of its predecessors for a highly geometric gilded and lacquered cabochon.

To open the ball of its splendors, Oud by Réminiscence offers a tangy blend of bergamot propelled by Guatemalan cardamom and pink pepper from La Réunion. At the heart, an infusion of rose and jasmine petals offer their delicacy and floral opulence to a spicy sweetness composed of saffron essential oil. Oud wood, the star of the fragrance, appears in the woody depths accompanied by its multiple exotic wood notes built around sandalwood, cedarwood, guaiac wood and cashmere wood. These woody splendors are enhanced by fir balsam absolute and by the animalic quality of labdanum. Tonka bean’s gourmand character punctuates this powerful ensemble.

A fragrance of mystery, carried by winds coming from Arabia, Oud reveals its spicy, woody and leathery facets. Réminiscence for Oud.
