Burberry released Hero Parfum Intense for sale on March 1, 2025, a new addition to a men's line launched in 2021. Aurélien Guichard kept the trio of cedar oils that anchors the line, opened it on a black pepper, and closed it on a deep leather, unprecedented in the Hero family. Adam Driver remains the face of the campaign.
Top note
Burberry announces a black pepper at the opening, in oil form, described as what sharpens the whole from the first minutes.
Heart note
The center repeats the trio of cedar oils that has anchored the entire Hero line since 2021. Burberry details neither the species nor the proportions.
Base
The base carries a deep leather, absent from earlier versions of Hero, which the house describes as the element that amplifies the strength of the fragrance.
What the label declares
The ingredients list adds what the announced accord leaves out. It lists coumarin, cinnamate and benzyl benzoate, three materials that lean toward balsam and cut hay. Eugenol and cinnamal answer on the side of clove and cinnamon.
Alpha-isomethyl ionone signals a powdery facet, close to violet and iris, that nothing announces up front. Limonene, citral, citronellol, geraniol and farnesol round out the list on the side of citrus and rosy facets.
Two ultraviolet filters also appear, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane and ethylhexyl salicylate, along with the two colorants that give the juice its hue, Ext. Violet 2 and Red 33.
Competing pyramids
iFragrance breaks it down differently: black pepper on top, leather at the center, cedar in the base. Wikiparfum cites cedar, leather and black pepper without assigning them to tiers. The three readings agree on the trio and diverge only on its placement.
What is left out
Takasago, the fragrance house where Aurélien Guichard works, describes the Intense with amyris and cypriol oil. Burberry publishes the same formulation, word for word, on the page for Hero Parfum, the non-intense version. These two materials thus remain outside the pyramid.
