While François Demachy enjoys surprising, he states that his work consists of doing the best without ever being satisfied. Born amid perfumes, François Demachy seems to perceive scents that no one else perceives. François Demachy was born in Grasse in the midst of its gardens, which probably explains his talent. While he naturally draws inspiration from it, he also enjoys exploring other scents, particularly those of the Mediterranean. Among François Demachy's great perfumes are Egoiste by Chanel, Diva by Ungaro, Eau Sauvage by Dior, and Escale à Portofino by Dior.

François Demachy here revisits the framework built around powdery iris, the one behind the success of Dior Homme. Iris absolute is one of the most expensive ingredients in niche perfumery. Its extraction process is long and delicate, which is why iris is a very costly raw material. Dior Homme Intense opens with the freshness of bergamot, paired with the aromatic notes of lavender. Tuscan iris fills the heart alongside ambrette seed and cocoa. It should be noted that ambrette seed (or hibiscus seed) offers tones that are both musky and delicate. The base sillage is oriental and leathery, blending Haitian vetiver, Indonesian patchouli, and Virginia cedar. François Demachy states that this eau de parfum should be worn the way one wears a tuxedo, in order to satisfy the demands of nighttime chic.
