For the first time within the beautiful house of Chanel, an in-house perfumer has a family relationship with his successor. In 2015, the great Jacques Polge left the magical formulas of his many beautiful creations for Chanel (such as Egoïste, Coco, Coco Mademoiselle...) in the hands of a perfumer he knows so well, his son, Olivier Polge.
Far from having merely maintained the family heritage or the rich heritage of Chanel, Olivier Polge has managed, just as his father did in the 1980s, to modernize the house's olfactory codes to keep them ever closer to their era. Olivier Polge's very first creation was thus a new version of the cult N°5, N°5 L'Eau, after which he offered a luminous and intense fragrant creation named simply Gabrielle Chanel. I wanted to stay close to the original formula while giving it a new dimension. I wanted to increase the proportions of the patchouli fraction. To push it to the extreme. To unfold its power on skin without distorting the freshness at the top, Olivier Polge said of Coco Mademoiselle Intense.
