Chance: A rounded audacity for a perfume dedicated to Mademoiselle Chanel. Gabrielle Chanel always believed in her lucky star, in her chance. Fond of symbols and lucky charms, the famous Coco is the source of inspiration for this magnificent sparkling and bouncing juice, Chanel Chance.
Luck arises where least expected. It cannot be seen, but it is noticed. However, to benefit from it, one must know how to provoke and seize it. Such were the convictions of Gabrielle Chanel, somewhat superstitious, but above all very ambitious. To pay tribute to her, the house bearing her name decided to create a perfume named Chance, in 2002. A generous floral bouquet, Chance reveals itself by turns refreshing, vibrant, spicy, gourmand, or woody. It alone evokes every aspect of femininity and of life in general. The Chance bottle, a symbol of purity and minimalism
Ordinarily, the house of Chanel has accustomed us to always very square bottles, as the timeless Chanel N°5 attests. The house's fragrances always adopt a very minimalist and refined aesthetic. At Chanel, no superfluous detail has its place. However, even though this clarity was preserved in the Chanel Chance bottle, it must be admitted that it is diametrically opposed to its predecessors. As proof, it is entirely rounded! This bottle traces a perfect circle, as if to contrast in every way with the square of the iconic N°5. Chance has its own personality and makes it known from the very sight of its bottle. Yet, just like its elder, it seems entirely timeless. Very minimalist, it is transparent and lets us glimpse a pale yellow juice, upon which is simply inscribed the name of the perfume and that of Chanel. A silver ring, meanwhile, encircles its neck, as if to contain and master the wild energy held within this bottle. Finally, to nonetheless recall its belonging to the great Chanel family, the whole is topped with a square cap, well known to keen connoisseurs of the house.
Jacques Helleu, an exceptional talent at work for Chanel
Note that the Chanel Chance bottle owes its existence to a true creative genius: Jacques Helleu. In designing it, he sought the only shape that could exist to stand up to the timeless square of Chanel's other bottles. Instinctively, he drew a circle. As a reminder, Jacques Helleu is one of the greatest names of the house of Chanel. He joined the house's offices in 1956, at barely 18 years old. Grandson of the painter Paul Helleu and son of Jean Helleu, who had also joined Chanel in the 1920s, he was an extraordinary artistic director, who devoted his entire life to Chanel, until his death in 2007. Famous for his sarcastic humor, his sharp silhouette and his love of painting, cars, cinema and women, Jacques Helleu was one of those who love to seize their chance and bite into life. An aesthete with a very elegant bearing, he contributed considerably to the renown of the Chanel brand.
