Alto Astral

An opening of fresh, milky coconut water, crossed with aldehydes with hints of candle wax, stands in contrast to a base of soft wood, velvety sandalwood and sweet popcorn. Created in 2025 by Jérôme Epinette for Byredo, the Alto Astral eau de parfum brings coconut back from the top to the heart tier, where it takes on a gourmand, sun-kissed turn.

Where to buy

Alto Astral joins the Byredo catalog in 2025. The house entrusts the formula to Jérôme Epinette and presents it as an eau de parfum, built around an accord in which coconut, incense and woods respond to one another. The sizes offered are 2, 5, 10, 50 and 100 ml.

Composition

Milky, aldehydic top

Coconut water brings a milky, slightly sweet freshness that recalls the translucent liquid of the still-green fruit. Aldehydes set against it an abstract brightness: a touch of orange, an impression of candle wax, and that clean warmth of a hot iron characteristic of these molecules.

A warm, resinous heart

At the heart tier, musk leans toward wood and an animalic warmth, while jasmine, sweet and wild, keeps the intensity of white flowers. Incense adds camphor, wax and spices; coconut returns, this time gourmand and sun-kissed, still milky.

Wood and sweet grain

The base brings together woody raw materials. Cashmeran, a synthetic molecule, combines wood, musk and spices; cashmere wood and a wood accord extend a warm, creamy softness, which sandalwood renders velvety. Popcorn, sweet and gourmand, evokes popped corn kernels.

Oriental with a floral facet

The oriental register, which combines resins, spices and warm or sweet raw materials, rests here on incense and its spicy wax, on the warmth of sandalwood and musk, and on the gourmand quality of popcorn. The floral facet comes from jasmine, a white flower with a warm, wild character.

What the label declares

Among the declared components are santalol and sandalwood album oil, linked to the sandalwood note, as well as vanillin, with a vanilla odor. Limonene and linalyl acetate evoke citrus, linalool evokes lavender; eugenol and beta-caryophyllene recall clove, and rose ketones a rosy fruitiness.
