Vanille Antique

Vanille Antique was released by Byredo in 2022, as an extrait de parfum. This designation refers to the richest form in odorant materials among the usual concentrations, and the formula of this creation fits within that dense register.

The house presents Vanille Antique as its first fragrance centered on vanilla, which it describes as a rare raw material. The fragrance is offered in 50 ml and 70 ml bottles.

A fruity and floral opening

In the top notes, plum provides a velvety, sweet and gourmand material. Freesia adds a luminous brightness, with nuances reminiscent of jasmine and orange blossom. Musk, present from this tier, takes on woody and animalic inflections and conveys an impression of warmth.

A heart of soft wood

Cashmere wood occupies the heart tier. This note describes a wood wrapped in softness, with warm tonalities, which perfumers use to give a velvety, almost plush texture to the middle part of a formula.

Vanilla and cistus

In the base, vanilla offers a sweet facet, heightened by spices and carried by a warm sensation. Cistus, a Mediterranean shrub from which labdanum is extracted, extends this base with amber, woody and resinous notes.

A gourmand family

The gourmand family brings together compositions that evoke sweet and edible flavors. Here, this character comes through the vanilla in the base, sweet and spicy, and the plum in the top notes, velvety and gourmand, two materials with connotations of confection or dessert.
