Hero Eau de Parfum

Released in 2022 as the second fragrance in Burberry's Hero collection, Hero Eau de Parfum takes the line toward warmer, more ambery woods. Signed by Aurélien Guichard, it places pine needles in the top notes, benzoin and incense in the heart, and the line's trio of cedars in the base, built on the memory of a Landes forest by the ocean.

The press reads Hero Eau de Parfum as a sweeter, more ambery extension of the eau de toilette. Trucs de Mec judges it accomplished, carried by pine and benzoin; Best Men's Colognes, more reserved, finds it pleasant but unremarkable, and prefers the eau de toilette.

Olfastory’s review

The two signed reviews agree on the path, from pine toward amber woods, and diverge on the interest of the result.

From pine to benzoin

For Trucs de Mec, which made it its fragrance of the week, the eau de parfum picks up the eau de toilette in a woodier, more ambery register. The blog describes an opening of slightly resinous pine needles, soon joined by benzoin and its balsamic, spicy and roasted tones, with a hint of vanilla.

An unsurprising amber woody

Best Men's Colognes perceives a fresh, slightly smoky and surprisingly sweet opening, which it attributes to olibanum and likens to 1 Million and Ultra Male. Benzoin gives a resinous relief, before cedar takes over and the fragrance ends in amber woods, between smoke and spices.

The site judges it fine, nothing more: it prefers the eau de toilette, more consensual, and the Hero parfum, more earthy and more distinctive.
