The Collection des Grands Crus by Berdoues

Arz El Rab is composed from rare raw materials, harvested according to the rules of the art and then worked by the finest perfumers. It has a natural elegance built around the flavor of wood. Its name comes from the Arabic “Horsh Arz El Rab”, which literally means “forest of God's cedar” of Mount Lebanon. Thus, its scent evokes the terroir of Lebanon and the oriental origins of this country. Arz El Rab is a call to travel to a distant land. It is a subtle, powerful and elegant juice combining ingredients from all four corners of the world to highlight the bewitching splendor of cedar.

Arz El Rab and its very woody flavor

Arz El Rab is a fragrance imagined by perfumer Cyril Roland. He describes his fragrance as a deep blend, with spicy and singular notes. It evokes the sensation felt when crossing a Lebanese cedar forest for the first time. It is a unique, almost magical sensory experience. Arz El Rab contains, more precisely, Virginia cedar, also called red cedar or Virginia juniper. It is a tree widely established on American soil, whose essential oil is obtained from its shavings. This ingredient produces a woody, dry and resinous fragrance. However, here it is spiced by the presence of Chinese ginger. This perennial plant releases a luxurious and aphrodisiac freshness. Finally, as if to embody the nobility of Lebanese cedar, Berdoues added iris to the composition of the Arz El Rab fragrance. It is one of the noblest and most expensive ingredients in the perfumer's entire palette. It reveals floral and powdery flavors. The whole is housed in the emblematic bottle of the Collection des Grands Crus. It takes on a rectangular glass shape. However, as if to pay tribute to this majestic tree, its surface is now decorated with a kind of bark worked in very light tones.
