Moustache

Rochas launched Moustache Eau de Parfum in 2018. The house was then reviving Moustache, Marcel Rochas’s first masculine, composed in 1949 by Edmond Roudnitska and absent from the shelves for years, by reissuing it under the name Moustache Original 1949 and pairing it with a new eau de parfum.

A new Moustache

Composed by Nathalie Gracia-Cetto, the eau de parfum has no olfactory link with the original, as Auparfum noted at its release. The brand explains this comeback by that of the mustache itself, back in force to line the upper lip of modern gentlemen, often accompanied by its sister, the beard.

Varanis Ridari, of The Scented Devil, judges the Original 1949 reissue to be a reformulation of the 1990s eau de toilette, stripped of its animalic musks; the eau de parfum, for its part, starts from other foundations, woody and ambery.

Rochas presents Moustache Eau de Parfum as the signature of an urban man who lives in the present and embodies the eternal masculine dear to Marcel Rochas: a woody scent recognizable by its finesse and refinement, masculine distinction and the quintessence of seduction according to the house.

This Moustache is an aesthete of soul and body, Rochas adds, a modern dandy both eccentric and refined whom one might pass on a Parisian street, who takes care of himself as much to please himself as to seduce. The house offers it in 75 ml.
