1 Million Parfum

1 Million Parfum is the parfum version launched by Paco Rabanne in 2020, signed by Quentin Bisch and Christophe Raynaud. The house describes it as a sun-kissed leather: grapefruit in the top notes, salty tuberose, pine, cashmeran and a touch of cinnamon in the heart, leather and amber woods in the base. Quentin Bisch traces its origin to a sunscreen and a cistus sample that broke open in his leather bag.

Marin Kristic, long unmoved by the 1 Million line, considers the Parfum the first flanker worth owning: the original DNA reworked for summer around tuberose.

What critics say

The flanker that won him over

Marin Kristic reviewed 1 Million Parfum on Scent Grail in May 2023. Until then unconvinced by the line, he sees it as the first flanker worth owning, because it keeps the best of the original while venturing in a new direction.

The original reworked for summer

From the opening he finds the cinnamon, amber and leather accord of the Eau de Toilette, transposed into a summery register. Tuberose, which he judges perfectly dosed, carries the heart; the base pairs soft leather with an impression of sun-warmed skin.

His reservations

He considers it the most mature and most unisex version of the line. He faults it for an evolution that is barely noticeable as it wears, the absence of the ambergris some note lists announce, and a presentation he finds juvenile.
