Wanted: A bold and intriguing fragrance from Azzaro If Azzaro was initially a house devoted exclusively to celebrating feminine beauty, it very quickly became an emblem of masculinity in perfumery terms. Indeed, its fragrance Azzaro pour Homme is known to all today.
It was in 2016 that the Azzaro house presented Wanted, an extraordinary masculine fragrance. Wanted is the fragrance of a vibrant, radiant and captivating man. If the essence is refined and spicy, it is no less the essence of a free man. Azzaro likes to create unforgettable, exceptional, even legendary fragrances. One thinks mainly of Azzaro, its first fragrance still as sought after, but also of Chrome, an unprecedented fragrance. With Wanted, Azzaro once again writes itself into the history of perfumes, the history of bottles.
For Wanted, Fabrice Pellegrin is the most wanted man
Fabrice Pellegrin is the son and grandson of perfumers, and he grew up in Grasse, surrounded by flowers and scents. Fabrice Pellegrin has a particular fondness for natural materials. He draws his inspiration at the very heart of nature and avoids using synthetic molecules. Fabrice Pellegrin wanted to make Wanted a sun-kissed fragrance, at once woody, citrus and spicy. To do so, he did not hesitate to seek out cardamom in Guatemala. According to Fabrice Pellegrin, the offbeat, sparkling cardamom perfectly evoked the adventurer-like quality he was seeking for Wanted. This fragrance is deeply respectful of nature, and Fabrice Pellegrin does not merely deliver a marketing product here. It aligns exactly with the values of the house, meaning he drew on strong humanist values such as nature, responsibility, listening and sharing, which indeed make Wanted the most wanted man…
The virility of Wanted's notes
At once fresh and virile, Wanted presents an unprecedented composition that plays on the contrasts between several noble raw materials. Wanted takes flight on the vivacity of lemon, combining a duo of Calabrian lemon. The heart is filled with fresh green cardamom from Guatemala, then paired with ginger from Nigeria. Ginger lends the whole not only an aphrodisiac effect but also an ultra-energizing effect. The base of Wanted reveals vetiver from Haiti. A quintessentially masculine ingredient, vetiver here brings tonalities that are earthy, woody and camphoraceous all at once. Vetiver is then paired with pyrogenated cade wood as well as tonka bean. Cade is a Mediterranean shrub, seldom used in perfumery. Cade wood offers strong, earthy tonalities and is often used as incense to purify the atmosphere. As for tonka bean, it comes here from Brazil and gives off warm, woody and truly captivating aspects. But Wanted is also about the originality of the bottle. Indeed, it takes the shape of a revolver barrel, made of gold and steel. Steel, a cold and virile metal, contrasts with gold, a warm and solar metal.
With Wanted, the Azzaro house signs another major success. It is Fabrice Pellegrin who is behind this composition, one that is not only original and contrasted but also very masculine.
