A tribute to the origins of Loris Azzaro
If the house of Azzaro chose to give us a perfume straight from the Egadi Islands archipelago, it is simply because it is the native land of Loris Azzaro's father. The designer therefore opted for a kind of nod to his origins. The Egadi Islands are located west of Sicily and form a small archipelago made up of three main islands. These are called Favignana, Levanzano and Marettimo. It is in this way that Loris Azzaro chose to name the three perfumes making up the Solarissimo collection. Levanzano was created in 2016. Marettimo, meanwhile, is the 2017 version. And it is a safe bet that Favignana will be the one for 2018. Each of these fragrances has a particular aura and conveys the image of the idyllic landscapes found on the Egadi Islands. Picture it: unspoiled nature, charming harbors, small steep paths, enchanting beaches, all bathed by the waters of the Mediterranean. It is precisely this sun-drenched magic that is found in each of the fragrances from the Solarissimo collection. Marettimo is no exception to the rule. It aims to be more aquatic than ever and invites us to take a great plunge into the Mediterranean.
The fresh new take of Solarissimo Marettimo
Like its predecessor, Solarissimo Marettimo comes in a very clean, transparent bottle. It rests on a solid glass base and rises skyward forming a rectangular block. This block takes on a lovely bluish tint as it rises. It is topped with a wooden cap sourced from eco-responsible cultivation. Thus, the visual of Solarissimo Marettimo plays on a sumptuous contrast between transparency and clarity paired with a warmer, more virile character. And it is precisely this that is found in its composition. Solarissimo Marettimo opens with one of the most emblematic ingredients of Sicily: lemon. This citrus fruit brings a vitamin-rich, citrus breeze. Then, this ingredient is quickly joined by a sea water accord. Solarissimo Marettimo thus becomes saltier, which only makes it more addictive. Finally, with all its virility expressed at its heart, Solarissimo Marettimo ends on a breath of cedar.
