Where to buy
Russkaya Kozha plunges us into the heart of prestigious Russia, the one we dream of, the one that is luxurious and governed by the prestige of the tsars.
The elegance of leather at the heart of Berdoues's Collection des Grands Crus
Since 1902, Berdoues has been a house that fascinates for its extraordinary expertise and its unique know-how in perfumery. Furthermore, it should be noted that it was one of the pioneers in the making of Eaux de Cologne. Thus, with the Collection des Grands Crus, Berdoues pays tribute to this prestigious past. However, not all great wines are called Grands Crus for that matter… Russkaya Kozha therefore had to live up to this prestige. To do so, Berdoues sent its best perfumers to the other side of the world in search of the finest raw materials. These were then carefully harvested before being ennobled in a fragrance by the hands of talented creators. Russkaya Kozha takes us here into the discovery of an exceptional terroir. In reality, its character delivers a typically Russian soul without actually combining ingredients from that country. Nevertheless, all the materials it contains are of noble character. They possess the power of the tsars of old and reveal facets woven with mystery and enchantment.
Russkaya Kozha, or the scent of Russia
Russkaya Kozha is a mysterious and intense fragrance created by perfumer Flavien Laurendeau. He explains that Russkaya Kozha is a leathery and ambery fragrance that reveals the soul of eternal Russia through the alliance of cade wood and an elegant accord of Malaysian benzoin and Guatemalan cardamom. He describes his creation as an elegant and distinguished Grand Cru. Guatemalan cardamom is a small material also known as grains of paradise. Here it releases a camphoraceous, zesty, aromatic, and resinous scent. It is paired with Siam benzoin from Malaysia. This raw material is a resinous exudation of the tree, a kind of sap. It enriches the character of Russkaya Kozha with vanilla, balsamic, powdery, and milky facets. Finally, cade wood delivers a typically Mediterranean scent reminiscent of the garrigue. It is what brings the woody, structured quality to this juice. Russkaya Kozha is presented in the case typical of the entire Collection des Grands Crus by Berdoues. Rectangular in shape and transparent, this one is decorated with multiple arabesques in red and orange tones, for a result worthy of the elegance of eternal Russia.
