Pi

Pi, the fragrance of a conquering man While the house of Givenchy is now part of the LVMH group, it was founded by Hubert de Givenchy in 1952. His style was initially a blend of relaxed chic and singular elegance

To mark the entry into the new millennium, Givenchy wished to offer a masculine fragrance even more original than usual with Pi, released in 1999. By asking Alberto Morillas and Jacques Cavallier to work on the composition of this Pi for adventurers of new times, the house of Givenchy achieved a perfume that lived up to all their expectations. Pi marks the sillage of new conquerors who delight in navigating between virile freshness, floral notes, and sensual warmth.

The adventurer of the new millennium in Pi, designed by Alberto Morillas and Jacques Cavallier

The house of Givenchy has specialized, since its earliest days in perfumery, in creating original and timeless fragrances for men. Monsieur and Eau de Vétiver thus left their modern and unprecedented mark on the perfumery of the 60s, which was not very original when it came to masculine perfumes apart from variations on eau de cologne. Every new Givenchy men's fragrance is therefore built to always surprise, to always bring something new to the spirit of the times.

Pi, released in 1999, thus seems entirely legitimate within this lineage of sophisticated and elegant perfumes. Composed by two perfumers, two talents from Firmenich, Alberto Morillas and Jacques Cavallier, Pi plays on contrasts between warmth and icy cold to better let its florals breathe. It is true, moreover, that the two men, accustomed to working together on numerous famous compositions such as Bulgari pour Homme or Acqua di Gio, know perfectly how to blend their talents and their favorite raw materials to create exceptional and, where possible, unprecedented fragrances.

For Pi carries the taste of adventure, the taste of scientific research or absolute modernity. It aims to be ahead of its time and fully immersed in the new millennium.

Pi is a fragrance dedicated to adventurers discovering new territories, to explorers of infinity and thrilling sensations. The Pi man is a pioneer. Givenchy on Pi.

Pi, or the meeting of virile freshness and sensual sophistication in Givenchy's infinium

For Pi, the two perfumers working together for the house of Givenchy managed not only to showcase their unconditional love of fresh scents but also to create a wholly innovative new accord: the infinium. The Infinium actually represents the meeting of rather feminine floral notes with nervy, anise notes, forming an energetic and sophisticated accord that upends everything in its path.

Pi by Givenchy opens first with a fresh, tonic aromatic citrus departure built around notes of rosemary, basil, tarragon, and mandarin. Then, in the heart, we finally encounter the famous Infinium, which is actually composed of lily of the valley and neroli notes for its delicate facet, and geranium and anise for its nervy, powerful facet. Finally, the adventurous man of Pi comes to bathe in the gourmand depths of benzoin, vanilla, and tonka bean. Cedarwood, symbolized in what Givenchy calls ironwood, brings its fresh nervousness to these smoldering depths.

A magnetic fragrance inviting exploration and discovery, Pi drives man to venture into new territories. Givenchy on Pi.
