By Man Re-Edition 1997

Dolce & Gabbana launched By Man in 1997, at the same time as its feminine counterpart, By Woman. The men’s fragrance came in a zebra-print bottle, the women’s in a leopard-print one. After disappearing from the catalog, By Man returns in 2026 as By Man Re-Edition 1997.

The Re-Edition collection

In 2025, Dolce & Gabbana opened a Re-Edition collection devoted to fragrances drawn from its archives. Sicily Re-Edition, by Nathalie Lorson, and Masculine Re-Edition, by Dominique Ropion, were its first entries, in bottles with a black fabric label embroidered in gold for the former and in silver for the latter.

By Man Re-Edition 1997 and By Woman Re-Edition 1997 join the collection in fall 2026, each in the design of its original bottle. The men’s fragrance is sold in a 100 ml bottle, notably at Harrods in London, since early October.

The perfumer

The formula of the re-edition is credited to Alberto Morillas, the perfumer behind Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue pour Homme. The house offers it as an Eau de Parfum and describes it as a bright woody aromatic.
