Petit Guerlain Rose

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this delicate fragrance, Thierry Wasser reworked its new composition into two refined bottles: Petit Guerlain Rose and Petit Guerlain Bleu.

Petit Guerlain Rose, or the fragrance for our little girls created by Jean-Paul Guerlain

It was on the occasion of his grandson's birth that Jean-Paul Guerlain decided to compose a fragrance just for him, and of course for all other children too! With the same elegance as the house's fragrances for adults while offering fresh, floral and childlike touches, Jean-Paul Guerlain created the lovely Petit Guerlain in 1994.

For Petit Guerlain, the advertising campaign was tender and conspiratorial, featuring a young boy trying to “steal” the Petit Guerlain displayed on the dresser in his room like an adult's perfume. As for the bottle, it is made of very oval glass, making it easy to hold for an adult or a child, of course!

Despite the success of this first composition, Jean-Paul Guerlain's Petit Guerlain had disappeared from perfumeries since 2007, notably due to legislation concerning the raw materials used. In 2014 Thierry Wasser brought this precious fragrance back to life by recomposing it and choosing to present it in the traditional bee bottle of Empress Eugénie. While two fragrances were born under the names Petit Guerlain Rose and Petit Guerlain Bleu, their beauty is similar, as their composition is identical.

The first version of Petit Guerlain composed by Jean-Paul Guerlain for his grandson is therefore relatively different from the one Thierry Wasser created for Petit Guerlain Rose. Beyond the legislation that required changing the composition of this Petit Guerlain's base, Thierry Wasser managed to adapt this 1994 fragrance to the tastes of 2014, notably by adding beautiful gourmand touches.

Petit Guerlain Rose opens with fresh notes of orange and mandarin, enhanced by lovely aromatic notes of lavender and chamomile. The heart, formed of rose and mimosa, is soft and springlike, particularly thanks to the powdery violet reminiscent of Belle Époque perfumes. Thierry Wasser added a touch of orange blossom to Jean-Paul Guerlain's original composition, which gives it the scent of sweet gourmand delights. This tender pastry-like scent continues into base notes of acacia honey and pistachio, nestled in enveloping white musks that beautifully replace the strength of the woody notes from the first Petit Guerlain of 1994.

For perfect harmony with little ones' skin, notes of pistachio, with a very subtle gourmand quality, have been added, enhanced by acacia honey and musky notes of a delectable sweetness. Guerlain for Petit Guerlain Rose.
