Pistachio

The origin of pistachio can be traced back to 7,000 BC. Pistachio is a dry fruit from the pistachio tree. Native to Asia Minor, pistachio trees are now found in North Africa as well as in the south of France. Pistachio comes in the form of a small greenish seed with a sweet, slightly sugary flavor. From a caloric standpoint, pistachio contains 50% lipids, 20% protein and 10% carbohydrates. Pistachio is known for its presence at aperitifs, but it is consumed in many different ways.

Cultivation and benefits of pistachio

The pistachio tree likes dry but well-drained soil. It also needs a lot of water. The pistachio tree tolerates neither cold nor harsh winters, which is why it is grown only in warm countries or regions. In terms of benefits, pistachio is a small treasure for our health. Pistachio is used in perfumery, where it releases sweet-salty notes, as well as green, resinous tonalities with a slight nuance of green tea.
