A new Nina bottle designed by Ana Strumpf and Guto Requena

While Les Monstres de Nina is indeed a complete reinterpretation of the previous Nina, it must be said that the most disconcerting part of this new creation remains its bottle. This new packaging is the work of two Brazilians: Ana Strumpf and Guto Requena. These two talented designers have a knack for reshaping reality to bring it an uncommon touch of pep and modernity. Guto Requena belongs to a new generation of architects. He constantly seeks to integrate cyberculture and new lifestyles into his creations. Ana Strumpf, for her part, is a highly original creator known for her many reinterpretations of the covers of the world's greatest magazines. As she often finds them too dreary, she does not hesitate to bring a good dose of color to them. Having already collaborated with Nina Ricci the previous year, Ana Strumpf has this time transformed the brand's famous apple into a kind of extravagant owl that seems to have stepped straight out of a childlike imagination. While Les Monstres de Nina does indeed retain an apple shape, it is now adorned with two large eyes on its front, giving it a much more animal-like appearance. Its color shifts from a sun-kissed yellow to a flashier red. Finally, a huge red pompom is attached at the neck.

From there, all that remained was to craft a fragrance in keeping with this colorful, festive world. To do so, Olivier Cresp once again drew inspiration from the world of childhood. Thus, the heart of Les Monstres de Nina contains cotton candy. This fragrance transports one straight into the middle of a fairground. This gourmand character is further accentuated by the presence of praline in its sillage. Nina's femininity nonetheless remains present in the background. It resurfaces notably through a huge bouquet of peonies. Finally, a blend of blackcurrant and pear reinforces the freshness of the whole. The result is a springlike fragrance, both festive and playful. After all, one would expect nothing less from Nina Ricci. It is a bit as if the brand's heroine had brought out her finest summer dress!
