Pear versus tuberose

Giorgio Armani structures My Way Nectar in three stages: a core of Calabrian bergamot, an orange blossom and a pear accord in the top notes; a tuberose absolute at the center; a Bourbon vanilla and a white musk in the base. The house classifies the version among the fruity family, the line itself remaining floral.

The supporting materials

The house says more than its pyramid suggests. A green, aromatic rhubarb accord doubles the pear; the orange blossom comes from bitter oranges hand-picked in Egypt and processed by enfleurage; a superinfusion of grandiflorum jasmine and a violet leaf accord surround the tuberose, harvested in India.

In the base, white woods and a warm cedar support the Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar, and a white musk accord signs what the house calls a second-skin effect, pure and powdery. Wikiparfum, which classifies the juice as floral, lists twelve raw materials flat, the same ones plus a bitter orange.

What the label declares

The list carries the allergens of white flowers and citrus: linalool, limonene, citronellol, geraniol, hydroxycitronellal, hexyl cinnamal, benzyl alcohol, benzyl salicylate, methyl anthranilate, eugenol and isoeugenol, citral, anisyl alcohol. Methyl 2-octynoate brings a green facet; two colorants, CI 17200 and CI 60730, tint the juice.
