Daisy Love is the first new line in the Marc Jacobs Daisy family in over four years, launched in April 2018 and composed by Alberto Morillas, who has signed the line since its origin. The eau de toilette opens on crystallized cloudberry, blossoms with the petals of the daisy tree, and rests on cashmere musks and driftwood, which the house wants to be gourmand.
Crystallized cloudberry
The top opens on crystallized cloudberry, an orange boreal berry related to raspberry, which the house describes as a sparkling, sugary burst. It gives Daisy Love its fruity opening, where the 2007 original relied on strawberry and grapefruit.
Daisy tree petals
The heart rests on the petals of the daisy tree, a tree native to the Galápagos Islands that botanists call Scalesia pedunculata. The house draws from it a radiant floralcy, tying the fragrance back to the flower that is the line’s emblem and namesake.
Cashmere musks and driftwood
The base pairs cashmere musks with driftwood. Wikiparfum reads this as cashmeran, a woody musk; the house describes these musks as sparkling and credits them, together with the wood, with the lasting gourmand touch that signs the whole composition.
Four notes, no confectionery
The house publishes only four notes, and none of them belongs to confectionery: no vanilla, no caramel, no praline. The gourmand character it claims comes from the crystallized berry, sugary from the opening, and from the sweetness of the musks that extend it.
