Lumière d'Issey

Issey Miyake classifies Lumière d’Issey among the floral ambers. The composition rests on three stages the house names: a green mandarin, orange blossom and a pistachio wood accord blended with sandalwood.

Top, heart and base

At the top, an organic green mandarin of natural origin opens the fragrance with a bright, zesty sparkle. Orange blossom, also of natural origin, forms the heart and spreads a sunny trail; in the base, a warm pistachio wood accord blends with a creamy sandalwood.

The launch press describes a broader composition, in which neroli accompanies the mandarin, and a freesia accord and white musks surround the orange blossom.

What the label declares

After alcohol, fragrance and water, the list opens with a synthetic ambery wood, linalool and vanillin. Bergamot oil, patchouli oil, lemon oil and bitter orange flower oil, or neroli, appear further down.

Sandalwood oil appears at the end of the list, along with a synthetic musk, hexadecanolactone. Two UV filters and an antioxidant protect the liquid; three colorants, a red, a violet and a yellow, give it its pink tint.
