La Nuit de L’Homme Le Parfum is the men’s Eau de Parfum that Yves Saint Laurent added in 2010 to the La Nuit de L’Homme line, launched a year earlier. Spicier than the Eau de Toilette, it pairs bergamot and anise, lavender and labdanum, vetiver, patchouli and vanilla around a black pepper that the house puts forward. Its cylindrical bottle is entirely black.

The opening joins the freshness of bergamot to the aromatic character of anise. Black pepper, one of the three materials the house singles out, lifts this opening with a dry, spicy note that stretches toward the lavender.

The heart rests on a contrast. Lavender extends the aromatic character of anise, while labdanum, a resin drawn from cistus, brings a warm, ambery facet that announces the base. The house speaks of a mysterious evolution from light to darkness.
Vetiver, patchouli and vanilla
In the base, vetiver and patchouli lay a woody foundation that vanilla wraps in warm softness. Together with labdanum, vetiver carries the woody, ambery side of the whole: Yves Saint Laurent speaks in turn of a woody oriental and a spicy oriental.
