Olfastory’s review

Irresistible by Givenchy, a bold fragrance crafted from noble ingredients

Let us start by discovering the fragrance of Irresistible. What about its actual composition? Here, Givenchy relies on a fruity opening, followed by a floral heart and resting on a woody base. So far, nothing particularly surprising... Yet the ingredients used are anything but common. It all starts with a refreshing pairing of pear and ambrette. With Irresistible by Givenchy, forget the traditional citrus notes and make way for pear and seeds from Indian hibiscus. This green burst awakens the senses before being followed by a very elegant floral heart. There, Givenchy decides to use two of the most elegant and romantic flowers there are: iris and rose. By choosing plant varieties among the most luxurious on the planet, Givenchy fully embraces the prestigious world of fine perfumery. Virginia cedar then lends more persistence to the whole, while musk amplifies its seductive, animalic side. Note in passing that Irresistible displays excellent longevity and strong persistence.

Givenchy's understated yet elegant bottle

In terms of bottle, Irresistible is more understated than its predecessors. It comes in a square bottle, entirely made of glass, except for a small chrome cap coated in pink lacquer. The result of this bottle is infinitely feminine, as shown by its pale pink shade. The name Irresistible by Givenchy appears with restraint on its front face, in capital letters. A few small details nevertheless bring more subtlety to this visual. The edges of this cube have been slightly rounded and lend a sense of softness to this container. A pink ribbon adorns its neck. Finally, the glass of this bottle is sculpted, giving us a quilted effect.

With Fran Summers, Givenchy secures a face of choice

Finally, because advertising is just as important as the fragrance or the bottle when it comes to an olfactory launch, Givenchy did not skimp on resources to secure one of the best faces of the campaign on the planet. This time, the alluring Fran Summers lends her image to the Irresistible fragrance. If her name does not mean much to you, know that she is one of the rising stars of modeling. Fran Summers is one of the 10 top models who walked the most runway shows in 2019, for the biggest luxury brands, with more than 70 shows to her credit!
