Irresistible Givenchy

Irresistible, Givenchy's new, very fruity fragrance Feminine perfumery is a vast universe within which numerous new releases very frequently emerge. Now, at Givenchy, 2020 promises to be a particularly notable year.

Very Irrésistible and Live Irrésistible are well-known fragrances of the house of Givenchy. Reinvented several times over, they have given rise to sweet, gourmand juices for several years. However, in 2020, both abandon their elongated, pyramidal bottle in favor of a new, more cubic container. Givenchy's latest fragrance is simply named Irresistible and turns toward the essential. Embodied on screen by Fran Summers, Irresistible celebrates a seductive, captivating femininity that is impossible to resist. So, what about this new, lush and radiant fragrance? For the occasion, Givenchy relies on a floral, woody and fruity composition.

Irresistible by Givenchy, fruity and animalic top notes

Like many fragrances, Irresistible by Givenchy opens on fruity, refreshing top notes. Yet these are not the traditional citrus notes. Givenchy prefers to use pear, a green and juicy ingredient full of vitamins, ideal for immediately making one's mouth water. As is the case for most fruits, the scent of pear has been entirely recreated in the laboratory. Very difficult to extract, it yields no essential oil and is therefore replaced by synthetic molecules.
Here, for Irresistible, pear combines with ambrette, a variety of hibiscus from India. Here, it is the small bean-shaped seeds from the shrub that are used to obtain an essence. Fruity and rich in nuance, this raw material is as musky as it is powdery or animalic. It opens this composition in a very original way.

Rose, the emblematic flower of perfumery, as a key ingredient of Irresistible by Givenchy

For the heart of its fragrance, and to highlight all the femininity of its composition, Givenchy relied on one of the most emblematic ingredients in perfumery. The romanticism of the woman who wears this fragrance is heightened by the presence of rose. After all, what flower is more iconic than this one to symbolize temptation and seduction? Used in fragrances since time immemorial, rose has been employed in perfumery since Antiquity. As proof, the captivating Queen Cleopatra was already a devoted admirer of it. Subtle and rich in numerous odorous facets, rose gives Irresistible by Givenchy a powdery, floral, luminous and fruity breath.

The powdery, woody base of Irresistible by Givenchy

Note, however, that rose is not the only flower to hold a place of honor in this fragrance. Iris reveals here all its opulence and nobility. While giving off a very powdery scent, it also helps reinforce the nobility of this composition. Indeed, iris is one of the most refined raw materials in the entire perfumer's palette. In the sillage of Irresistible by Givenchy, it is structured with Virginia cedar, a dry wood that lends more persistence and longevity to this composition. Musk, for its part, leaves a more animalic scent in its base notes. It is the symbol of all the temptation of this fragrance.
