Idôle

Idôle, the perfume for women by Lancôme. Lancôme is one of the largest perfumery, makeup, and beauty product houses in the world.

The house of Lancôme has just announced major news that is already making waves in the world of women's perfumery: the release of its perfume Idôle on August 22, 2019. Presented in “the thinnest bottle in the world”, it immediately captivates with its pink hue and highly architectural line. So, what lies behind this splendid bottle, paired with Hollywood star Zendaya as its face? A closer look at Lancôme's fresh, spring-like fragrance.

Idôle: three perfumers at work for an airy essence

Idôle by Lancôme owes its existence to three renowned perfumers, namely Shyamala Maisondieu, Adriana Medina and Nadège Le Garlantezec. Together, they envisioned a perfume for a new generation of women who challenge the status quo, who free themselves from traditions and who redefine the meaning of success. More concretely, Idôle by Lancôme is a fresh, light perfume, with a fairly understated composition whose ingredients were rigorously selected.

Rose, the central element of the Idôle fragrance

To craft this fragrance, Lancôme set its sights on one of the most symbolic flowers of feminine essences: rose. Many perfumers describe it as the sugar of perfumery. Here, it is exclusively a Turkish rose, more precisely the Isparta rose, grown specially for Lancôme from fair-trade resources. Today, there are two varieties of rose mainly used in perfumery. Nevertheless, Turkish rose accounts for 95% of fragrances that contain it. Prestigious, it requires very meticulous work and long hours of preparation. To give an idea of its prestige, it takes 3,500 to 4,500 kg of flowers to obtain a single kilo of essence. Here, Turkish rose gives Idôle a floral, fruity breath. Noble and light, it reveals the most luxurious side of this fragrance, while delivering a radiant, highly refreshing impact.

The other ingredients in Idôle by Lancôme

Forming the most famous duo in women's perfumery, rose is here paired with jasmine. A plant native to the mountains of northwestern India, jasmine is a very rich ingredient, at once floral, fruity, animalic and powdery. A symbol of prestige, it gives Idôle by Lancôme an unmistakable elegance. Bergamot, for its part, also brings freshness to the composition. The fruit of a cross between the lemon tree and the bitter orange tree, it is an icon of the Mediterranean. Bergamot gives Idôle a zesty, sparkling lift. Finally, pear further enriches the whole with its juicy, fruity flavors. The overall effect is extremely fresh and airy, pairing beautifully with warm summer days. Idôle by Lancôme is a rich, remarkably well-structured perfume that never becomes overly opulent. It is a perfect demonstration of Lancôme's expertise.
