Women are defined by the XX chromosome pair while men possess an XY genetic pair. Nevertheless, these two beings are complementary and constantly draw on their differences. This is precisely what the house of Hugo Boss drew inspiration from to form a duo of perfumes. Focus on the more masculine of the two, logically named Hugo XY.

The new Hugo Boss man

If Hugo Boss chose to name its perfume Hugo XY, it is simply because this man seems to have considerably matured over time. More ambitious and more masculine than ever, he seems to have left behind his many years of bachelorhood in favor of a more stable life, surrounded by a woman who seems to be his perfect echo. Nevertheless, do not be mistaken, Hugo XY has retained its irreverence of old. It is simply accompanied by a more sensual and more glamorous development. Thus, Hugo XY delivers new codes of seduction. It is a very harmonious perfume, wildly matched to its feminine counterpart. This duo of fragrances thus forms a balanced couple and champions exchange between the sexes. Yet if the complementarity of these two fragrances is striking, it is also because they are very different. This duo therefore embodies the idea of a relationship flirting between seduction and rivalry. Hugo XX and Hugo XY are two deeply fused perfumes that draw us into a resolutely modern relationship, following no logic other than that of instinct.

Hugo XY and its reworked classic accord

Hugo XY is a perfume created by Daphné Bugey. It takes the form of an aromatic fougère, a particularly classic accord in masculine perfumery. Here, however, it has been reinterpreted in a more contemporary way. The whole is built around a chilling combination of mint leaves and more aromatic tones of basil. Likewise, a concentrate of crushed ice further complements this already well-established freshness. The whole is then softened by the juicy, green presence of pear, while citrus also makes an appearance. Bergamot and citron make the whole more citrus-forward. Finally, Hugo XY closes with more virility and sensuality. It brings forward cedar of Lebanon and patchouli for a wilder, intensely masculine finish. As for the bottle, it takes on a highly stylized look. Hugo XY resembles a very urban spray-paint can. It perfectly echoes its feminine counterpart. While the latter was created in amber tones, Hugo XY comes in shades of gray and black. Its metal cap thus recalls the gunmetal color of its juice, for a result that is both understated and masculine.
