Their talent and expertise quickly propelled them to the height of success. Their collections were worn by American stars, but also by numerous crowned heads. It was in 1976 that the brand ventured into perfumery with First. In 2009, Van Cleef & Arpels presented Muguet Blanc, an essence extracted from the Collection Extraordinaire.

Lily of the valley, the pretty flower of May

Lily of the valley is a flower of temperate regions; in France it is mainly found in Nantes and Bordeaux. Lily of the valley consists of a stem along with numerous clusters of highly fragrant white bells. On May 1, it is customary to give a sprig of lily of the valley as a sign of love and happiness. This tradition dates back to the Renaissance. Celebrating the return of spring with lily of the valley was then a way to secure good favor for future harvests. With Muguet Blanc, Van Cleef & Arpels wanted to honor the purity and whiteness of this flower, a symbol of happiness. Muguet Blanc is an extremely joyful fragrance, celebrated with softness and delicacy. The perfumer sought a fragrance that is simple at first glance. Very quickly, the lily of the valley reveals its false innocence thanks to the presence of quality ingredients surrounding it.

The green and airy notes of Muguet Blanc

It was the perfumer Antoine Maisondieu who created this highly distinctive composition. Here he sought to recreate a very particular purity and innocence. Muguet Blanc is a soliflore with satiny accents. Muguet Blanc opens on the luminous notes of neroli, which offers all its powerful beauty here. The heart is filled with a green, airy lily of the valley combined with peony, soft and suave. The house of Van Cleef & Arpels proves once again that nature is an inexhaustible source of beauty. Finally, the base of Muguet Blanc becomes more sensual and warm thanks to the presence of Atlas cedar and white musks, very beautiful musks including nirvanolide, a musk of exceptional quality. As for the bottle, it follows the codes of its predecessors and resembles all the bottles of the Collection Extraordinaire. Rectangular in shape, the glass is heavy and imposing. The bottle has an elegant and refined look. In the middle is a label bearing the name of the perfume, as well as a number. This number corresponds to the trial number retained by the house of Van Cleef & Arpels.

Muguet Blanc, or the definition of purity. This wonderful flower is adored for its fragrant bells, symbols of happiness. Here, it is showcased in an apparently simple way, which ultimately conveys a false insolence. Muguet Blanc is the essence of perfect purity.
