Narciso Rodriguez
Narciso Rodriguez is something of a poet drawing inspiration from the many women who have marked his life, turning them into real or imagined muses. It is this love of femininity that nourishes each of his creations.

The career of Narciso Rodriguez
Narciso Rodriguez was born in 1961 in New Jersey. His father was a Cuban dockworker working in New York. It was in this city that Narciso Rodriguez studied, first at the New School and then at the Parsons School of Design, where he took courses in fashion design. Once he had earned his degree, he joined Calvin Klein as an assistant designer, where he learned to create simple yet elegant garments. Following this four-year experience, he became creative director at TSE and Cerruti, presenting his first collections for both fashion houses in 1996. That same year, he was named creative consultant by Anne Klein for her collection intended for Asia. However, it was when he designed the wedding dress of his friend Carolyn Bessette Kennedy that his career was immediately propelled into the spotlight. The following year, Narciso Rodriguez launched his own fashion house and showed in Milan in 1997 and 1999. At the same time, in 1998, he received the CFDA Perry Ellis Award for best new womenswear designer as well as the Aguja de Oro in Madrid. The year 2001 was marked by his return to his native city, where he held a runway show under his own name in New York. That same year, he also signed his first Perfumes and Cosmetics license agreement with Beauté Prestige International.
The perfumery of Narciso Rodriguez
It was in 2003 that the first fragrance by Narciso Rodriguez was launched, as a tribute to his late friend Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. It is called For Her and is still considered to be Narciso Rodriguez's finest creation. This fragrance was followed, in 2007, by its masculine counterpart called For Him. Since then, numerous fragrances have emerged from the house of Narciso Rodriguez. Each of them aims to be intimate, nuanced and bold at once. The Narciso Rodriguez style is characterized by unmatched rigor combined with an extraordinary sensuality. Just as Narciso Rodriguez likes to play with the duality of black and color in his couture creations, he also enjoys crafting highly contrasted fragrances. Narciso Rodriguez seems to have given rise to a new expression: eternal femininity. Each of his creations embodies a way of being that is both classic and modern, skillfully combining sensuality and elegance, as if to achieve timelessness. The world of Narciso Rodriguez thus proves to be particularly poetic and highly refined.
