Extravagance d'Amarige
Extravagance d’Amarige, the fragrance of an unprecedented personality. Today, the couture house Givenchy is the symbol of French luxury and refinement. It belongs to the LVMH group, but Givenchy was founded in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy.

The house's style was originally Hubert's own, chic and refined, but he knew how to adapt to trends and eras. Hubert de Givenchy owes his first perfume to his muse and friend Audrey Hepburn. In 1991, Givenchy unveiled Amarige, the fragrance of love and happiness. In 1998, the house then presented Extravagance d'Amarige, and the woman here seems far less demure.
The bold woman of Extravagance d'Amarige
Amarige, an anagram of the French word for marriage, depicted a woman radiant with beauty and brimming with joie de vivre. With Extravagance d'Amarige, Givenchy reveals another facet of this woman. Here, she becomes provocative, impertinent, and above all explosive. Far less demure than her predecessor, the Givenchy woman flaunts her gentle provocation without inhibition. This heightens her charm and makes her even more captivating. The Givenchy woman here is unpredictable, concealing certain facets of her personality. The love story of Extravagance d'Amarige is more eccentric, and more spontaneous too. In its own image, the composition of Extravagance d'Amarige is extremely bold and mysterious.
The impertinent notes of Extravagance d'Amarige
It was perfumer Michel Girard who was tasked with crafting an impertinent composition. Like its predecessor, Extravagance d'Amarige has a floral-woody character, but its construction is far more structured and the result is completely different. The opening of Extravagance d'Amarige bursts forth thanks to green mandarin. This is paired with tagetes flower, also known as marigold, and violet flower. An unexpected touch of black pepper then spices up the floral notes. The heart is rich in white flowers, blooming between jasmine, orange blossom and mauve wisteria. This vibrant bouquet meets a surprising ingredient here, nettle! This symbolizes the strong and “sharp” temperament of the Givenchy woman. The base brings together a touch of wild strawberry and iris, followed by enveloping woody notes with cedarwood and sandalwood. The bottle is slender and elongated, boldly reinterpreting its predecessor's bottle. A soft pink label displays the perfume's name while a transparent cap openly showcases a luxurious touch.
In 2007, Extravagance d'Amarige joined Givenchy's prestigious Les Parfums Mythiques collection.
