L'Envol Eau de Parfum
On the Cartier perfumery side, men had been growing impatient for some time. Indeed, since the launch of Roadster in 2008, there had been no real novelties for men within the house.

Where to buy
Well, since summer 2016, it has now been done! Moreover, the house has released a new fragrance named L'Envol, a true homage to the pioneers of aviation contained in a transparent and contrasted essence.
Cartier's love for aviation
Some men can boast of having truly left their mark on history. The Cartier brothers undeniably belong to that group and literally transcended early twentieth-century fashion. What is more, Louis Cartier liked to surround himself with men in his own image, such as the famous Alberto Santos Dumont, a pioneer of aviation endowed with limitless determination to one day make men fly. It is thus a tribute to this great man that the house of Cartier decided to create today. Its new fragrance is thus named, very simply: L'Envol. L'Envol is therefore a fragrance with a strong temperament, intended for determined men ready to do anything to accomplish their dreams. It is at once highly energizing while displaying profound audacity. The least one can say is that it leaves no one indifferent. It is woven with strength and complexity. It is a sort of magic potion capable of galvanizing the mind and stimulating whoever wears it day after day. It encourages movement and drawing an ever-greater strength from within. Cartier delights here in depicting the image of a quick-witted man, free to own his choices. In other words, L'Envol is intended for a sort of modern-day hero.
L'Envol, an essence full of surprises
L'Envol is an essence unlike any other. It begins its development with aromatic and light notes. Lavender is paired here with mugwort, giving a rather abstract and limpid result. Then, the whole becomes charged with green violet, a slightly watery flower further enriched with a powdery iris. The combination gives L'Envol a very fresh and energizing virility. From there, little by little, dry and smoky woods come to enrich this essence. The woody and chypre elegance of this fragrance is then wrapped in cottony, hazy musks. Patchouli, for its part, comes to structure the whole, accompanied by a few dried fruits, sweeter and syrupy. L'Envol then closes on a honeyed feeling that creates all the olfactory addiction of this wildly tempting perfume. The whole is contained in a bottle resulting from a true technical feat. It is made up of two parts. It forms a sort of ampoule suspended in place, into which slips a brilliant yellow fragrance. L'Envol is then protected by a sort of glass dome. It is a kind of demonstration of the excellence of glassmaking, offering Cartier's customers a wildly refined product.

The advertising
The advertising clip for the Cartier L'Envol fragrance
Mathilde Laurent is a perfumer highly regarded by the house of Cartier. Indeed, she is already behind numerous fragrances for this famous Parisian house. We owe to her notably Les Heures de Parfum, Baiser Volé, Cartier de Lune, Déclaration d'un Soir, and also La Panthère. It is therefore no surprise to learn that it is this creator who recently crafted Cartier's L'Envol. A year after unveiling this formula, the house of Cartier decided to offer it as an eau de toilette. From then on, all that was missing was an advertisement to accompany this release. That has now been done. Focus on Cartier's new advertising clip.
The images of the Cartier L'Envol ad
The advertisement for Cartier's L'Envol pays tribute to the spirit of the pioneers and, more specifically, nods to the aviator Santos-Dumont, a famous friend of the Cartier family. This perfume encourages men to move forward and rise higher to fulfill their desires. This is precisely what the advertisement for this essence is about. This television clip is a blend of audacity, escape and French elegance. It opens with the vision of a Haussmann-style boulevard subtly lit by a sunset. The camera rises and everything speeds up. Cartier offers us an aerial view of several Parisian monuments, including, among others, the Invalides and its golden dome. In reality, this advertisement immerses us in the gaze of a man facing the horizon. Shots of his magnetic gaze multiply. The clouds come to caress his skin and tickle his hands. He almost seems to fly above our capital. This thirty-second film finally ends with a vision of all of Paris illuminated by an orange sunset. The silhouette of the Eiffel Tower stands out in the distance, and the bottle of Cartier's L'Envol suddenly appears from the sun's rays. The visual of this advertisement is particularly poetic and highly polished.
Cartier's L'Envol, a perfume that inspires reaching for the sky
Cartier's L'Envol seems to have been designed to encourage men to fulfill themselves. It inspires the wish to reach for the sky, to elevate one's mind. With it, perfumery serves to give a surge of energy to everyday life. Cartier's L'Envol is known for its woody, oriental and contrasted scent. It is an uncompromising fragrance, at once transparent, singular, tender and virile. Its scent begins with a fresh, energizing sensation before developing into a more woody and resinous movement. Its bottle, meanwhile, is just as striking. It takes the form of an ampoule encapsulated beneath a removable glass dome. Cartier's L'Envol is a precious and modern perfume, whether worn on the move or at home. It is a dose of life inseparable from oneself, a companion to the soul whose energy it stimulates.
