Viking
Viking gave rise, at Creed, to a flanker named Viking Cologne. Olivier Creed composed the original in 2017, as an Eau de Parfum: absinthe and citrus open onto a heart of mint, pepper and Bulgarian rose, before a base of sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli and tonka bean. The lavender in the heart ties the composition to the fougère family.

Where to buy
Viking was born in 2017 at the house of Creed, under the hand of Olivier Creed. It is offered as an Eau de Parfum, a concentration in which alcohol serves as a vehicle for a significant share of odorous materials: the list of declared components indeed opens on alcohol, fragrance and water.
The line extends to Viking Cologne. The sizes offered range from small formats of 2, 3, 5 and 10 ml to bottles of 50 and 100 ml, and go up to 240 and 490 ml.

Composition
Top
Bergamot, lemon and orange open onto a citrus freshness, at times sweet and fruity, at times sharp and tangy. Pink pepper adds softened spices, while absinthe contributes its green bitterness with anise-like accents.
Heart
Mint opens the tier on a minty note, lavender on a fresh flower tinged with camphor. Dry, herbaceous pepper and clove evoking mulled wine and gingerbread heighten the whole. Waxy, honeyed rose, fruity Bulgarian rose, warm and wild jasmine, and powdery iris with buttery and violet nuances form the floral side.
Base
Sandalwood brings a velvety woody warmth, cedar its scent of pencil shavings and resin. Vetiver evokes smoke and earth, patchouli earthy dampness and camphor. Tonka bean offers toasted nuances of almond and caramel; musk, woody and animalic, adds its warmth.
Fougère family
A fougère is organized around an accord of lavender, citrus and coumarin notes. In Viking, the lavender in the heart, the bergamot in the top and the tonka bean in the base, rich in coumarin, trace this axis; mint and absinthe add an aromatic, herbaceous and green facet.
Molecules on the label
Limonene and citral, common constituents of citrus essences, echo the lemon, orange and bergamot. Linalool is found in lavender and bergamot, citronellol in rose, eugenol in clove. Coumarin, present in tonka bean, points back to the base.
