Black Opium Neon

Black Opium Neon: The new creation from Yves Saint Laurent. Yves Saint-Laurent was a figure with a colorful personality. Behind his shy and introverted appearance, he actually concealed a very creative and tempestuous spirit. And it is precisely this dual facet that he always sought to highlight in his creations.

This year, 2020, the designer Yves Saint-Laurent presents a new fragrance: Black Opium Neon. As its name suggests, it is a worthy descendant of the previous Black Opium, born in 2014. Just like it, Black Opium Neon unfolds a bitter coffee scent, softened and brightened by orange blossom. However, a new ingredient makes its way into its formula: dragon fruit. Black Opium Neon becomes all the more intriguing and fascinating as a result. Just like its formula, its bottle also draws inspiration from its predecessors. However, a few new touches of originality are also present. So, let us look in more detail at which elements have been kept on its bottle and which ones are appearing for the very first time.

Black Opium Neon, a bottle with echoes of the previous Black Opium

Black Opium Neon has a look that feels oddly familiar. It remains almost unchanged, blending the rigor of the square with the softness of curves. As proof, a round window still opens on its front face. As a bit of background, the shape of the Black Opium Neon bottle was originally inspired by an inrō, a small precious case that warriors once carried with them in the Far East. This is therefore a very contemporary interpretation of a traditional and historic object.
Just like Black Opium, Black Opium Neon is covered in a black glittery finish. The whole is also topped with a spray cap shaped like a half-moon. The name Yves Saint-Laurent, for its part, is inscribed with restraint on its neck, in white lettering.
With all these elements already familiar to the general public, the Black Opium Neon bottle clearly marks its belonging to the Yves Saint-Laurent family, and more particularly to the globally celebrated Black Opium saga.

The new elements of the Yves Saint-Laurent Black Opium Neon bottle

To all this, Yves Saint-Laurent adds other, more innovative elements. First of all, the square shape of the previous Black Opium disappears in favor of a rectangle elongated upward. It is a bit as if this bottle had stretched itself out entirely to gain height. The window of this fragrance has traded its former peach hue for a much flashier pink. This new energy fits perfectly with its name neon and its electrifying character. A glow encircles the whole, as if a wave of light ran through the center of this bottle. Finally, the glittery surface of this bottle is far more sparkling than before. Black Opium Neon shines with a thousand lights and seems to have donned its evening gown. A shower of stars now falls across its entire surface. It is impossible to ignore: Black Opium Neon has more than one asset to win over your heart!
