Jimmy Choo, a London house born of luxury footwear and accessories, develops its perfumes under license with Interparfums. Fever belongs to the Signature collection, the line opened in 2011 by the brand's first women's perfume, of which it forms an extension rather than a new departure. Announced in August 2018, it was released the same year as an Eau de Parfum, the concentration indicated on the house's official product page.
The composition is credited to Nathalie Lorson and Honorine Blanc, an attribution given by Fragrantica's launch article and subsequently repeated by Parfumo and by several retailers. American retailers classify the perfume among gourmand florals, while the launch presentation describes a warm floral, lightly sweet, set on a dark base. The opening plays on a black plum nectar, whose velvety flesh sets the fruity tone of the whole, brightened by lychee and lifted with a touch of grapefruit.
The heart turns toward powdery, sweet flowers: heliotrope brings its almond and vanilla facets, vanilla orchid a creamy roundness, jasmine a more pronounced floral density, with the launch article evoking a deliberate choice of pink and violet tonalities. The base extends this sweetness toward woody and balsamic territory, with sandalwood, resinous benzoin and tonka bean, whose toasted almond inflections reinforce the gourmand side. Some retailers additionally mention coffee and hazelnut: these notes do not appear in the pyramid published by the house and have received no official confirmation.
The bottle reprises the ribbed, faceted silhouette characteristic of the line, here in an intense plum lacquer, topped with a square gold-tone metal cap. The launch press likens its facets to the Murano glass chandeliers found in the house's boutiques, and one retailer describes a spherical shape tinted purple by the juice. The outer box bears a dark purple python print, a motif that directly echoes the brand's shoes and accessories. At launch, the Eau de Parfum was offered in 40, 60 and 100 ml.
The campaign features model Hannah Ferguson, whose full credits — photographer, creative direction, styling, hair — are documented by Models.com. A fifteen-second advertising film went online on August 17, 2018, accompanied by an original piece of music. The British press launch was held at Park Chinois, in Mayfair, in the presence of the face of the campaign and one of the perfumers, according to the public relations agency in charge of the event.
