Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia

Orange Soleia makes its appearance in Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria collection. For nearly two centuries, the Guerlain house has devoted itself body and soul to perfumery. Currently, Guerlain's fragrance creations owe their existence to perfumer Thierry Wasser.

With more than 200 years of history, the Guerlain house has given rise to one of the largest perfume catalogs on the planet. Its number of world-famous creations, along with its impressive collection of fragrance sagas, can no longer be counted. Among them, the Aqua Allegoria line forms an emblematic olfactory ensemble, directly inspired by the Eaux de Cologne of the past, while evoking a sun-drenched garden. In 2020, Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria collection grows further, letting us discover the new Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia. So, what about this particularly luminous juice? Does it live up to its predecessors? Here is our take on this typically Sicilian fragrance.

Olfastory’s review

Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia, a journey through time and space

Like all the Aqua Allegoria, Orange Soleia promises a journey through time and space. First of all, it is presented as a fragrance inspired by Sicily. Thus, with a simple breath, it claims to be able to take us to southern Italy, to the heart of the Mediterranean. And it must be acknowledged that the challenge is brilliantly met! Like every Aqua Allegoria, Orange Soleia offers us immersion in a garden. Here, it would even be more of an immense citrus field. Furthermore, the getaway offered by Guerlain is also temporal. Indeed, with its freshness and energy, Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia recalls the Eaux de Cologne of the past. Its bright, transparent scent takes us back to the beginnings of modern perfumery. Indeed, for a very long time, men and women wore only this type of fragrance. Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia is therefore a nod to the beginning of the last century, while considerably improving on the longevity of traditional Eaux de Cologne.

Guerlain takes us into a citrus field

Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia is a particularly luminous eau de toilette, offering a journey without even having to leave the bathroom. Here, Guerlain meets the challenge of taking us into a citrus field typical of Sicily. To do this, the house chooses to give a large place to blood orange and bergamot. Full of spirit, these ingredients are further tickled with pink pepper, before evolving toward a much fresher heart of mint and petitgrain. The whole ultimately rests on a woody base of tonka bean and musk. Like all Guerlain fragrances, Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia contains only rigorously selected raw materials, sourced from the finest varieties available. The magic works instantly!

Guerlain's timeless bottle

Finally, on the bottle side, Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia does not really create anything new. However, the magic still works and the beauty of its bottle remains fascinating. Here too, timelessness is the rule. Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia comes in a modern reinterpretation of Guerlain's legendary Bee Bottle, originally designed in 1853 for the Eau de Cologne Impériale. This time, for Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia, its juice takes on an orange hue, among the sunniest. Thus, Aqua Allegoria Orange Soleia displays a perfect consistency between its visual and its scent.
