Aqua Allegoria Harvest Nerolia Vetiver

The Guerlain house has always made nature its finest source of inspiration. Moreover, it is also one of the French perfumery houses with the longest history. Drawing on the past while looking toward the future, Guerlain has developed an entire collection of eaux fraîches: the Aqua Allegoria. Today, some of these fragrances are elevated into exceptional editions. Such is the case with Aqua Allegoria Harvest Nerolia Vetiver by Guerlain.

The Aqua Allegoria collection by Guerlain is among the most vivifying and bucolic olfactory compositions on the planet. It puts in the spotlight raw materials widely used by perfumers, while also drawing on the eaux de Cologne of the past. In 2023, Guerlain decided to reclaim some of the collection's cult scents, turning them into limited editions even more prestigious than before. Aqua Allegoria Harvest Nerolia Vetiver is a new allegory of Italian light. Let's break down its composition together.

The green, anisic freshness of Aqua Allegoria Harvest Nerolia Vetiver

Aqua Allegoria Harvest Nerolia Vetiver opens with a fresh breath of bergamot. Indeed, this citrus fruit, resulting from the crossing of the bitter orange tree and the lemon tree, is emblematic of Guerlain's creations. For the occasion, the bergamot is brightened with petitgrain, sharp and zesty, while combining with a much greener, more lingering facet. This comes from basil leaves. As if crushed by hand, these unfold an anisic, highly aromatic breath, emblematic of the Mediterranean.

The floral, gourmand heart of Aqua Allegoria Harvest Nerolia Vetiver by Guerlain

Then, Aqua Allegoria Harvest Nerolia Vetiver by Guerlain moves toward a more floral heart. This holds the main ingredient of this creation: neroli. More precisely, it is a product from Calabria, both floral and green, particularly pure. Paired with rose, it is also combined with a fig accord, for a fruitier result. It is also at this moment that Calabrian honey appears, specifically sourced from Guerlain's own hives.

As Delphine Jelk, who created this perfume in collaboration with Thierry Wasser, explains: she drew inspiration from the meeting between the bee and the orange blossom, from which springs a precious floral, citrus nectar, like a neroli honey.

Base notes built on a precious contrast

Finally, note that Aqua Allegoria Harvest Nerolia Vetiver is not content with being a simple eau fraîche akin to the eaux de Cologne of the past. Indeed, it is a lasting perfume, whose final breath is warmed by woody inflections. These come from vetiver. The whole is nonetheless wrapped in white musks. Likewise, the presence of orange blossom further illuminates the whole, while reinforcing this perfume's connection to the Mediterranean basin.

Guerlain opts for a noble, natural creation

More than ever, with this creation, Guerlain reaffirms its commitment to protecting the environment. As such, the house states that its formula contains 95% ingredients of natural origin, which greatly complicates its production. Aqua Allegoria Harvest Nerolia Vetiver is therefore a perfect demonstration of all of Guerlain's expertise. Note also that its alcohol comes from beets grown in France. These come from supply chains committed to responsible farming.
