Acqua Di Gio Profumo

The intensity of Acqua Di Gio Profumo by Armani. While the Acqua Di Gio collection had until then rather highlighted transparency and freshness, the new Acqua Di Gio Profumo instead plays more on depth, sensuality and opacity.

By offering Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio in 1996, Alberto Morillas allowed the elegant couturier to obtain his masculine bestseller. From then on, Acqua di Gio would become much more than a sober and elegant perfume expressing the couturier's love of nature: it would become one of the best-selling masculine perfumes and a great classic of perfumery. After revisiting the myth with Acqua di Gio Essenza, Alberto Morillas surprised everyone in 2015 by offering an Acqua di Gio Profumo far removed from its original creation…

Acqua di Gio Profumo, or the explosive accords of perfumer Alberto Morillas

Giorgio Armani's haute couture house expresses Italian luxury and elegance while offering the subtle sophistication of always staying close to nature and the elements. Thus, although the very first Giorgio Armani perfume for men already expressed the citrus gardens of the couturier's childhood, Acqua di Gio proposed to go further on this journey by offering the idyllic scented vision of the meeting of the sea and the rock.

Alberto Morillas, a Spanish perfumer passionate about fresh, tangy scents, thus set out to offer the Armani man, and so many others, an Acqua di Gio that would be as sober as it is sophisticated, as pure as it is charming. Acqua di Gio quickly established itself as a great success in men's perfumery, and even as a classic that others sought to copy.

I am happy that this fragrance is a success and that, evidently, it has won over the whole world. When you create a new perfume, you always dream that it will be able to transcend time and the era that saw it born, and that it will establish itself as a true classic. Alberto Morillas on the success of Acqua di Gio in Beauté.fr.

Such a success must be nurtured so that it never runs dry, and it can even afford to be extended according to desires and trends, as with Acqua di Gio Essenza in 2012 or Acqua di Gio Profumo in 2015.

Freshness gives way to the volcanic force of Acqua Di Gio Profumo

The strengths of Acqua Di Gio are that when you smell it, you feel good, it evokes vacations, moments of pleasure. I wanted to keep that idea but reconstruct the whole story. I had in mind this contrast of water, but also something volcanic. Alberto Morillas on Acqua di Gio Profumo for Marie-Claire.

Thus in 2015, almost 20 years after the effluvia of Acqua di Gio, Acqua di Gio Profumo comes to deliver a blow to the citrus freshness, keeping only a few aquatic effluvia but above all much more warmth. Indeed, Acqua di Gio Profumo is far more contrasted than its elder and unfolds in three distinct facets: a fresh and powerful aromatic aspect, a heart vibrating between fresh notes and burning spices, and finally unprecedented, overpowering depths of sensual woods and edgy cedar.

Acqua di Gio Profumo still depicts the meeting of the sea and the rock, but this meeting is far more a collision than a light effluvium, an intense sensual eruption rather than a languorous duet…
