The woody, sensual warmth of L'Eau de Nuit

While this is a wildly masculine perfume, L'Eau de Nuit was in fact created by a woman, and more specifically by the perfumer Marie Salamagne. As it is a perfume evoking the fleeting moment when daylight gives way to the darkness of night, L'Eau de Nuit is woven from multiple contrasts. Thus, this fragrance opens with a sparkling, spicy freshness containing bergamot paired with pink pepper and cardamom. Likewise, this intense freshness is very quickly followed by a powdery, warm blend. Furthermore, the elegance of iris is paired with the impertinent flavor of nutmeg. At this point, L'Eau de Nuit becomes a woody, powdery fragrance. Its infinitely bold and chic sillage then seems reserved for connoisseurs of perfume. Finally, the whole thing ends with sweeter vapors of amber and tonka bean. The bottle of L'Eau de Nuit appears, for its part, as a copy of that of L'Eau pour Homme. However, its glass is this time entirely tinted black, as if it too had been overtaken by darkness.
