Voyage d’Hermès Parfum is the version Jean-Claude Ellena composed in 2011 and Hermès launched in March 2012, two years after the Eau de Toilette. Woodier and more ambery than the original, it pairs juniper berry and cardamom with tea, milky sandalwood and musks. Its black glass bottle sits in a silver stirrup designed by Philippe Mouquet.
The house describes a woody, ambery fragrance in which tonic juniper berry blends with the milky, soft character of sandalwood. The opening pairs juniper berry with cardamom, with an effect reminiscent of lavender; the floral, aromatic heart extends the tea notes of the Eau de Toilette.
The musky base carries a woody, ambery signature more pronounced than the original’s. Citrus notes keep a place at the top, more discreet than in the Eau de Toilette, and Hermès describes the whole as warm and sensual.
What the label declares
The label declares, among others, limonene, citronellol, linalool, geraniol, farnesol, coumarin, citral and cinnamal. Three UV filters, including ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, protect the fragrance from light; BHT is an antioxidant.
