Rouge Hermès
Hermès Rouge, an oriental ambiance for an assertive femininity. The house of Hermès represents 170 years of heritage in craftsmanship, talent, luxury and elegance. Founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès, the house of the same name was originally a shop for horse accessories.

Where to buy
At that time, the horse was the only means of transportation, and Thierry Hermès's shop met with enormous success, especially from the Universal Exposition of 1867 onward. It was in 1951 that the brand launched into perfumery with Eau d'Hermès. After numerous olfactory successes, the house of Hermès presented Rouge Hermès in the year 2000.
When a color becomes a perfume
Before being a perfume, Rouge Hermès was a color established in 1934. The red was intended for the house of Hermès's leather goods. To mark the turn of the new millennium, Hermès decided in 2000 to turn the color red into a perfume. Red is also the color of passion and love. With Rouge Hermès, red harmoniously combines floral, amber and oriental tonalities. A symbol of power, Rouge Hermès offers a tenacious essence that likes to be noticed. It is the perfume of particularly seductive women. Before being Rouge Hermès, this fragrance was called Parfum d'Hermès. The latter was created in 1984. At that time, a great many perfumes were on offer, and Parfum d'Hermès did not achieve the expected success. Fifteen years later, Jean-Claude Ellena decided to bring this essence back into the spotlight by changing its name and modernizing its composition.
The seductive notes of Rouge Hermès
Rouge Hermès defines itself as an intoxicating oriental. It is built around amber, floral and oriental notes. Rouge Hermès opens with rose notes paired with ylang-ylang. Its heart is more sensual and more feminine, with the presence of cedarwood, Bourbon vanilla and sandalwood. Finally, the base is heightened by a touch of spices. This is joined by myrrh, labdanum and mastic gums, which gives the composition depth and tenacity. As for the bottle, it echoes the look of Hermès's classic perfumes. Slender and elegant, it draws its origin from the lanterns that adorned the carriages of old.
Rouge Hermès is the olfactory representation of the power of the color red, combined with the values of the house of Hermès. Rouge Hermès takes up part of the composition of Parfum d'Hermès, released in 1984, and brings it up to date. Rouge Hermès is an ultra-feminine and seductive essence. Its oriental side also offers a touch of mystery. A truly distinctive fragrance, a unique sillage, a perfume that is not forgotten…
